MOUNT VERNON, Ohio – Mount Vernon Nazarene men’s soccer picked up their first win of the season in Tuesday night’s home opener, blowing past Cornerstone (Mich.) 3-0 at Yellow Jacket Stadium.
First Half
The Cougars grabbed the lead early as Joshua Sitney opened his scoring account at MVNU, firing home off a Matt Roldan pass to put the home side up 1-0 in the 10th minute. MVNU controlled possession and the ball from there, keeping Cornerstone away from the MVNU goal for the most part.
